"Ve vere only followink oadahs," isn't an excuse. Of course, this starts at

the top with the massive expansion of federal police power that has grown since 9/11. Homeland Security was NOT intended to be used against American citizens or political opposition, but the temptation is obviously too great. The military refused to be a part of this kind of nonsense. But an "acting" director and political appointee like Chad Wolf has no accountability and no reason to refuse. They are operating way out of their charter and it is political. Trump's personal army. So there's that.

But at the field level, there is not adequate training to handle law enforcement and you have to wonder what kind of moral compass a person would have to have to willingly participate in what we've seen unfolding. These guys are bullies or weak-minded followers or true believers. They are also setting themselves up for legal action against them personally. If they have any personal integrity at all they will quit and help expose this corruption. If they stay, they are helping aid and abet this violation of the law.
